RIP CURL SEARCH NEWQUAY!

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

www_rip-curl_8533The new look Rip Curl Pro Store in Newquay has been asking all surfers and wetsuit owners to search their attics and sheds for old wetsuits as they launch the first ever national Wetsuit Amnesty to support the brand’s global commitment to protecting the environment. Rip Curl’s pioneering wetsuit recycling project gives your old unused wetsuits a new lease of life as they’re crushed into Resurrection Rubber and reused in manufacturing new products, helping to cut down on the waste going into our local landfill sites and the materials produced to create new products.

You can take your suit into your local Rip Curl Pro store throughout the Summer but if you hit the Newquay store from 6pm on Saturday 2 May for the launch of the Wetsuit Amnesty, Rip Curl will be offering pairs of Project Resurrection sandals in return for all wetsuits brought in for recycling.

Speaking about recycling his own wetsuits, Rip Curl pro team rider Jayce Robinson (pictured) said, “This is such an cool event for the South West, Rip Curl have the largest range of ecological products available in the surf sports industry and it’s so great that locals can get actively involved with producing more sustainable products.” At the launch, Rip Curl will also announce an official WCT SEARCH location (live from Bells Beach Australia), as well as screening surf film “Relentless Revolution – Powers of Three”, alongside live music and team signings in-store, followed by an after party at the Koola bar (Newquay). Who knew recycling could be so much fun? For more on Project Resurrection, Rip Curl Planet Foundation, and The SEARCH WCT event visit ripcurl.com or go to Rip Curl, 61 Bank Street, Newquay.
