New Year’s been and gone and we’ve all had a good old detox, but now it’s time to re-tox the freak in us. Join the Love Riot crew in Penzance on 29 January as they celebrate the Cornish debut performance from local St. Just lad done (extremely) well, Iwan Gronow’s new band Mutineers. It’s also their very own Ry Spenceley’s birthday party, so expect the finest bar side athletics to ever grace Penzance. For Love Riot ‘s first outing of the new decade they head to a stylish new venue on Penzance seafront, Space (aka PZ Gallery) after the closure of planned venue, Sandsifter.

Mutineers are hotly tipped for success in 2010, and were recently signed to Supervision Management, the team that brought us Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand. The Mutineers have spent the past year on the road supporting the likes of The View, Pete Doherty and Bad Lieutenant (New Order, Joy Division). Causing a huge buzz with their catchy synth laiden tracks, it looks set to be a real cracker for their Cornish debut. Mutineers are being lined up for massive things on the national music scene this year, a band you’d do well to catch while you can still see the whites of their eyes from the crowd. There’s a rather intriguing interview with them on the Love Riot website, check it out here: http://www.slutclothing.co.uk/features.   The interview features hard hitting investigative questions which forced the band to really search their soul in the quest for answers…

“How is 2010 going to look for the Mutineers?
Well we are going to release a single, and either split up and shoot ourselves or be massive, hopefully someone will love us. I think it’s the hardest time to be in a band, it’s not easy to become millionaires and be doing coke off hooker’s tits.”

Awesome.  Also on board will be Sir Vinyl Of The Fattest’s Dave Spenceley and Will Vegas throwing down a freestyle party set to make way for the band. Then to finish up you have birthday boy himself Ry Spenceley closing the evening in style.

Friday 29 Jan will be the only Love Riot in Cornwall until Easter (Sunday 4 April) so get your dose of Cornish mayhem whilst you can!
