SUPPORT THE WHITE RABBIT IN PLYMOUTH!
Could there be a better way to celebrate father’s day than bringing your dad to the White Rabbit in Plymouth for the night and getting him drunk and setting him loose in the pit??? Whilst not everyone’s cup of tea, one of Plymouth’s leading underground live music venues needs you help in a serious way.
The owners sent this message to us earlier today…
“Basically, the shit has hit the fan and WHITE RABBIT is in some financial trouble, Partly to do with the recession, a lot to do with students this year not getting their loans, and also because the White Rabbit is an independent, D.I.Y music venue, with no financial backing or capital. we use every penny that comes through on putting on the next show.
So the truth of it is, we’re really putting ourselves on the line doing this, it’s REALLY bad business sense to let on that your business is struggling, in fear that people will lose faith, and we’ve had A LOT of hard times. That’s probably why most of you will not have realised the White Rabbit was finding things tough out here. (As are most local and independent businesses!) it’s got to the point where we really hate to ask, but we need your help.
We’re hoping that people will pull together to help us keep going, rather than just letting it die, so we’re putting on a VERY short notice ALL-DAYER on Sun 20 June from 4pm to raise some urgently needed cash. We don’t want anything for free, all you need to do is come and watch some awesome bands, drink some beers, and have an awesome time to show us some support, and give us some encouragement if you’re into what we do.”
