Local promoters SW1 Productions and CGI Music were left disappointed last night as word reached them early evening that singer Ben Drew, AKA Plan B, was too unwell to make an appearance at the planned ‘official after show’ at the Karma Nightclub, Plymouth later that night.

In an official statement from management, promoters were told that Plan B was to return to London immediately after his headline Pavilion’s show to seek medical treatment. Although Plan B was not due to perform at the venue, Doctors felt that he should not delay treatment any further, and it was because of this that the decision to cancel was made. Karma Nightclub staff made a massive effort to explain the reasons for the cancellation, but many ticket holders were left feeling puzzled after they’d just seen Plan B perform a full set at the Pavilion’s earlier that evening.

“Of course, we were devastated to hear the news that Plan B wasn’t well enough to attend the party, but we understood that his throat was causing him lots of problems, and obviously his priority has to be to his health and to finishing his UK headline tour dates” said promoter, Katy Thomas from SW1 Productions
“Plan B’s headline show had to be the priority for the performer, and we were told that great care was taken of the singers voice to ensure that he was able to perform that night, it’s quite common for singers to develop throat problems, particularly when they have such heavy touring schedules”.

A spokesman for Plan B said “Plan B personally apologises for not being able to attend this party and promises to return to Plymouth and make up for it soon.”
