REVIEW: ANNIE MAC AT L2 IN TRURO, CORNWALL (01/08/11)

Annie-Mac came to L2 on Monday August 1st, surrported by Cornwall’s finest Snatch the Wax. The night can only be described as banging, with the dancefloor full by 11pm: rocking from start to finish. Warmed up by Kristoff and Max from snatch the wax the cword were in great sprits by the time Annie arrived and played a mix of funky house in her on unique style.

L2 it is such a personal arena to DJ with the crowd within touching distance you could see how much she was enjoying this vibe and the crowds reaction to every tune people jumping around only feet away. It’s down to the running of small clubs like L2 that the dance fans in Cornwall get the chance to see such big DJs in a space where they can fill that there part of the crowd rather than in the super clubs where you’re just part of a massive audience and distanced from the whole experience.

Annie played for just over an hour and then left Snatch the Wax to finish of the night leaving the crowd in no doubt they had a once in a lifetime experience. She had a few drinks at the bar and a little mingle with the crowd, which was nice. The night finished at 2.30am with the crowd gagging for more tunes and with me in no doubt that this has to be one of the biggest Monday nights in the South West! L2 is a credit to the local dance scene and Jason Masters who runs the night has to take a lot of credit for the hard work involved to run these types of events. See www.jnpevents.co.uk
