THE WEDDING PRESENT TO PERFORM ‘SEAMONSTERS’ IN EXETER, CARDIFF AND BRISTOL

First of all there was a new album, ‘Valentina’, which was mixed by Grammy award winning producer Andrew Scheps and where, it has been said, guitars meander before slicing, the rhythm section is taut and Gedge hits all of his favourite topics – love, lust and spite – often in the same three or four minutes!

Then, after a barnstorming stint at the ‘South By Southwest’ Music Festival in Texas [playing 10 shows in 4 days!] the band went on to perform to adoring audiences across North America, Australia and Asia before returning to Europe to play several prestigious festivals over the summer, including Spain’s ‘Primavera Sound’ and the ‘Off Festival’ in Poland before appearing at David Gedge’s own mini-festival, ‘At The Edge Of The Sea’, which is now in its fourth year.

But they’ve saved the best for last, of course, and The Wedding Present are now bringing their whole new show back home to the UK and Ireland – including a date at Exeter Cavern on Monday October 29, at Cardiff Gate Arts Cenre on Tuesday October 30 and at Bristol 02 Academy on Wednesday October 31, 2012.

Audiences worldwide have already been left stunned by the energetic shows, consisting of new songs from ‘Valentina’, beloved old favourites and, of course, the long awaited live performance of their intense ‘Seamonsters’ album, which has been hailed as almost a piece of performance art.

For all the concerts in the UK and Ireland, The Wedding Present will be supported by TOQUIWA – a crazy all-girl rock band from Tokyo who have been especially invited by David Gedge, who is releasing their self-titled album on his own Scopitones label.
