Originally from Bristol, his current single, ‘Get Out My Head’ is smashing the charts and 2012 looks set to be his biggest year yet as when he’s not gigging, he’s in the studio non-stop! Off the back of numerous festival slots and supporting Tinie Tempah, this mix of Redlight Music is a 38min journey of mainly unreleased material produced over the past year in the Redlight studio including ‘Mosquito’, “Planet X and three new tracks made exclusively for this mix. Also featured are special versions of two recent releases.

This month we have a mix from Esion aka Steve Hatfield who is a self titled ‘purveyor of the filthiest bass, breaks and grooves’, a man who surfaces for brief periods to fire up the dancefloor before disappearing into the night. Signed to multiple labels including SUBTEK, Mode 303 and Section 8, Esion Plays some of the most forward thinking D’n'B on the scene whilst mixing it with well picked dancefloor fillers. With releases that cover Breaks, D’n'B & Dubstep, he knows exactly how to keep the crowd going, as has proven with the success of his night AutoMate which has now expanded to have its own radio and podcasts.

This month on the Out of Hand Flyer Pack, we have an exclusive mix from Bristol and London based Future garage and dubstep duo, Jammo, 22, & Tommy Rukus, 23, a.k.a. My Nu Leng. Combining both of their musical production skills and passion for dubstep, D’n’B and garage all together, the boys have been making waves in the dubstep music scene, recently featuring on BBC Radio 1’s Mistajam show and released their Fire Flies EP back in August. This month we have an exclusive mix from Koolwaters founder and resident DJ Marc Vedo. With a career of over 15yrs playing at clubs and events across the world, this Bristol based DJ, originally from Portugal is currently working alongside Boy George, both performing at clubs and producing music on their VG Records. After the huge career milestone of mixing the cover mount CD for the biggest dance music magazine
in the world, DJ Mag, Marc has been an ever-present figure on the international club circuit having spent much of 2011 darting between countries in Europe and Asia showcasing his cutting edged sound to the masses. In the studio, his most recent record ‘Sunshine into my Life’ – a collaboration with Darren Tate and Boy George under the Funky Sober name – has garnered much attention and managed to climb ashigh as No. 10 in the UK dance charts. Marc’s also just completed a collaboration with the legendary George Michael, due in the coming months and already featured on BBC2 and BBC6. This will be George Michael’s first official release for a number of years. Back to things closer to home, the latest Koolwaters compilation, mixed by Marc and with fellow friend DJ/ Producer Paul Thomas (Toolrooms) is out now too. The album features a host of Koolwaters releases alongside some additional material from the likes of Paul Thomas, Kid Massive, Boy George, David Penn, Adamski and Hoxton Whores.

For July, we have an exclusive mix from Werk resident, Duncan Crane. His career began in the late 80’s DJ’ing in & around the Bristol area under the alias of Nifty. As time went by, the scene began to fragment & change, and Duncan went down the house/trance & acid techno root during the 90′s. During this time with the help of some friends they began a night called “Homegrown” which successfully ran for 10 years and played across various countries in Europe. He also held a residency at the infamous, Lakota in Bristol among other nights. Currently he is resident for one of Bristol’s liveliest club nights ‘Werk’ which is on the first Saturday of every month at Timbuk2 as well as guest slots in various London & Ibiza venues.

With his DJ skills finely tuned he has also turned his attention to writing, producing & remixing using various names to cover the various styles he produces, these include Ulterior Motive, D Cee & Nifty, as well as producing tracks for Deepgroove and has a number of releases coming out soon on 420 Recordings and Bellarine Recording. Duncan’s production skills are quickly earning him a well deserved reputation & he has gained support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Herman Cattaneo & Nick Warren to name a few.

He is signed to Andy Basic’s Bristol based ‘Slime’ label, putting out it’s first release, and one of the 1987 remixes in this free mix we are giving away topped the Trackitdown charts, and stayed there for over three months, so expect some killer tunes on this mix.
