WIN A RADIO SHOW AND HAVE A DUBSTEP PARTY WITH THE SOURCE
Top dubstep DJs from all over Cornwall will be playing the biggest dubs at a live event on Friday 1 May at Falmouth Rugby Club, celebrating the online launch of Falmouth and Penryn’s dedicated local radio station, The Source. The station has been on air for just over a month now and is on a mission to find talented young presenters. Aspiring hosts and DJs can submit mixes and promos on 1 May at Falmouth Rugby Club, and the entries will be judged by the station’s manager and DJs. The best will be played on the airwaves at a later date, with the overall winner given the chance to devise their own tracklist and present it live on their very own show.
Headlining on the night will be DJ Sp!nout, who has rattled venues all over the South-West under the name of DJ Indica. Also showcasing their talents are Hyperblazing, a Cornish collective of producers and DJs that have previously supported dubstep all-stars Joker and Appleblim. Devon dubstep daddy Necta Selecta and The Source’s own DJs complete the line-up and, with spectacular VJ visuals, it should be a night to remember.
If you can’t make it to the big event, you can catch it live on The Source, either on the dial at 91.6FM or via the website at thesourcefm.co.uk. The website also has more details of the competition, a what’s-on guide to the station’s shows, and information on radio-training opportunities that The Source is offering to people in the Falmouth/Penryn area.
Tickets for the dubstep event will be available on the door for £3.50 on a first come, first served basis. The event is 16+, so bring ID for the bar.
