World famous street artist and local Bristol boy, Banksy is hosting his biggest show to date in this home town. Held at the main city Museum in the heart of Bristol and featuring over 100 pieces of street art and installations, including 78 new works, this is the ultimate show for all Banksy and street art fans.
Banksy said: “This is the first show I’ve ever done where taxpayers’ money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off.”
Although Banksy is known for his mystery, it is some feat to have pulled of a show of this size with only three people from the museum and none from the council in the know. Irony has always played a part in Banksy’s work, so the fact that the show is held in a council-run museum (without the council’s big chiefs knowing) is both the ultimate tribute and last word.
Running until the end of August, the museum is open from 10am 5pm every day and the exhibition is FREE.
