JOSS STONE TO OPEN MAMA STONE’S IN EXETER
Devon-born songstress Joss Stone is set to play at the opening of her mum’s new venue in Exeter. Joss’s mum, Wendy Joseph, will open Mama Stone’s at the old Hub site on Mary Arches Street, which is currently undergoing refurbishment. With a capacity of 250, the venue will have a stage for live music, a bar, a kitchen serving food and a recording studio. Wendy has said that it will be very different to anything else currently on Exeter’s music scene. As well as playing host to some big names (besides Joss herself), the venue is looking for local bands and unsigned talent to perform on their stage. Joss Stone is currently touring Europe, but will perform with her band on the venue’s grand opening night in early September.
Wendy originally ran a Mama Stone’s in Wellington, but the venue was closed down following noise complaints.
