TEENS NEEDED FOR RAMPAGE – TEENAGE RAMPAGE COMES TO FALMOUTH
Teenagers are set to go on the ‘Rampage’ at Falmouth’s Princess Pavilion on Thursday 13 August when the Teenage Rampage Tour 2009 hits Cornwall and the ultimate search for the UK’s best young musicians is on the search for what the region has to offer.
Teenage Rampage run’s throughout the South West and is run by Bristol Music Foundation and in partnership with Colston Hall and Youth Music. The summer tour will see the finest teenage bands and solo artists from the area competing head to head at top music venues within the SW and in front of local audiences and music industry figureheads including Conal Dodds, Oasis’ promoter, and Chris Morrison, Blur’s manager.
With 8 regional heats planned throughout July and August, taking place in towns from Swindon to Falmouth, industry professionals will decide on the best 4 acts to play at the final, held on September 19th, where the teenagers will have the incredible opportunity to perform alongside a national headline act on the same stage once graced by the likes of The Rolling Stones, U2 and The Beatles – at Bristol’s largest venue, the newly developed Colston Hall.
The Teenage Rampage final is part of a week of events to celebrate the opening of the £20 Million foyer development of Colston Hall that includes an appearance from world-renowned DJ and producer Roni Size. As well as the opportunity to play at the final event the Teenage Rampage Tour is also offering selected South West teens a chance to win studio time to lay down a track, have their songs feature on the official “Teenage Rampage Tour 2009” compilation CD and have the chance to be assigned an industry mentor and team built around their act.
As well as amazing prizes for the winners the Teenage Rampage Tour is also giving young people the chance to meet music industry experts and learn about the great variety of careers available throughout their “Industry Insight sessions” held at regional heats. The sessions are run by experienced industry professionals, are completely free to attend and are a must for any young person interested in a career in music.
You can support your favorite local acts and hear the bands of the future at the live music events happening from Cornwall to Gloucester and if you’re an aspiring young musician there is still time to enter the Falmouth heat by visiting the Teenage Rampage website and downloading the entry form, deadline for entries is 24 July.
