FreesoundPlymouth Arts Centre is doubling up as a radio station once again in August as Freesound radio station, an open platform for the creative voice and sounds of Plymouth.  Broadcasting from the galleries of Plymouth Arts Centre, Freesound boasts a varied schedule of programs, which will be heard across the world on freesound.org.uk.  DJs, artists, performers, presenters, musicians and the wider community are all shaping this experimental sonic space, with support from Deep Blue Sound, the Foyer and the station’s sponsors.  Freesound will be broadcasting from 7 August to 6 September, from 3pm-11pm daily.  The South West’s most prominent dubstep night Subheavy has a weekly slot on Tuesdays from 9pm-11pm.  Plymouth’s electro superstar DJ Mitch (UFO) hosts his ‘Mitch’s Bigga Night In’ on Thursdays, 6pm-8pm.  And 247 contributor Arash Torabi will play a varied selection of punk, indie, psych, folk and more from the 60s to present day, for a one-off show on Saturday 15 August, from 5pm-7pm.  Listen online at freesound.org.uk
