REVIEW: THRILLED SKINNY – JUST ANOTHER TEENAGE DREAM
Thrilled Skinny
Just Another Teenage Dream
(Pop Noise Records)
4/5
Being the adventures of Noise Annoys Simon singer, Simon Bish in the late 80s/early 90s (then known as Simon Goalpost). Punk pop fits the bill: fast and furious at times, with plenty of energy and amusing titles. During their time, Luton’s finest released several singles and albums on their own independent label and were favoured by our Lord John Peel. Two of the standout tracks here for me are ’Teenage Dream’ and ‘Bag of Joys’: melody, passion and drive are all included in the recipe. As well as this compilation, the band’s entire output is available again on Pop Noise Records, including their third and final album, ‘Smells A Bit Fishy’, which is given a deluxe reissue.myspace.com/popnoiserecords
