LOCAL MUSICIANS SELECTED FOR TEENAGE RAMPAGE GIG
Teenage Rampage Tour 2009 is currently out on the road in search for the UK’s best young musicians and will be in Falmouth on the 13 August to see three of our very own battling it out on the Princess Pavilion stage.
Oracy, Make Me a Hero and Martin Skewes have been selected as finalists for the Cornish leg of the event and will be given the chance to impress the judges and win the opening slot for the evenings main show (which also features a headline set from The Holloways, pictured) and then go on to the Teenage Rampage final at Bristol’s Colston Hall.
Oracy have been making a name for themselves in Cornwall for their individual blend of Indie Rock mixed with some electronic glitchy beats and quirky synths, Make Me a Hero promise to get you moving with their poppy-synth-hardcore-breakdowns and Martin Skewes will be bringing some experimental Celtic folk to the proceedings. But which will go through to the Bristol final? You can help by coming along and voting for your favorite.
As well as the opportunity to play at the final of the event the Teenage Rampage Tour is also offering selected South West teens a chance to win studio time to lay down a track, have their song’s feature on the official “Teenage Rampage Tour 2009” compilation CD and have the chance to be assigned an industry mentor and team built around their act.
As well as amazing prizes for the winners the Teenage Rampage Tour is also giving young people the chance to meet music industry experts and learn about the great variety of careers available throughout their “Industry Insight sessions” held at regional heats. The sessions are run by experienced industry professionals, are completely free to attend and are a must for any young person interested in a career in music.
The Falmouth event will start at 6pm with Free Entry to the Industry In sight and you can come and vote for your favorite act battling it out in the Teenage Rampage heats. The main event begins at 8pm where you can see the winner of the Cornish TR heat opening the show!
