AVAST ME HEARTIES! A PIRATE VOYAGE OF MUSIC AND FUN AWAITS…
If you’re in Bristol on Saturday 13 September, watch out for Norman Crumb’s Extraordinary Adventure for Pirates… Sailing from The Ferry Station, this voyage of piratey goodness will include live music, grub, a quiz, prizes, a make a parrot competition, theatrical happenings and of course, a prize for the best fancy dress (yes, you should dress up as something piratey)…
Meet at The Ferry Station at 3pm, sailing on to the Grain Barge and then onwards to the Barley Mow, tickets are £15 and the voyage continues until 3am where DJ Andy Votel will be spinning some nautical tunes at Start The Bus.
Here’s a little rum down from Norman Crumb himself of what you’ll be getting for a mere 15 of your golden doubloons:
* PASSAGE ON THE VOYAGE – sailing between the ‘Ferry Station’ and ‘Grain Barge’ and then onwards to ‘The Barley Mow’
* GRUB – to fill yer bung hole!
* SEA SHANTYS – to lift yer spirits
* QUIZ – full of amusing piratey stupidity
* EXCITING PRIZES – given out by Capin’ Biscuit
* MAKE A PARROT COMPETITION – glue and feathers – yer can do no better!
* BRISTOL PIRATE FACTS – Aye Aye! They’ll be not much of this drivel if I’ve got anything to say ’bout it. “Walk the plank!!!”
* PIRATE TUNES – Davey Jones himself spinning some underwater dittys for you to shake yer peg leg to
* SURPRISE GUESTS – (hush hush) no need to say anymore, but it’ll be more shocking than a black spot at the bottom of a pint
* LIVE BAND – from those ‘ard and fast shipmates, known round these parts as ‘BONES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL’ will be smashing some pirate skulls in with cranked up gypsy amps.
* THEATRICAL HAPPENINGS – keep yer eye out for all sorts of misadventures and hoodwinking. I’ve got my spies out and me eye patch flicked up to catch those ruffians. FIRE DEM CANNONS!
* PRIZES FOR BEST DRESSED – You’ve got to sort out yer attire for the occasion. This be no smart cowboy convention. I’ll be having no tracky bottoms or yer be paying a visit to my sea monster friends!
* AND to top it all off we be having a torch-led procession to the final venue for guestlist entry (that be free of charge) to dance yer head off to DJ ANDY VOTEL (Twisted Nerve). He be playing a fine nautical set he tells me.
Does that wet yer appetite then me hearties?
