STEREOPHONICS RETURN TO CARDIFF CASTLE FOR SPECIAL GIG
To celebrate the release of their brand new studio album, Stereophonics are returning to the site of their historic 1998 Cardiff Castle show for a special afternoon concert. With tickets for the show priced at just £12.50, they’re the same price as they were back in June ’98, when the band played to over 10,000 fans in the first show at the castle in over 20 years. They return to the castle on 3 October, and tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 9 September exclusively through sterephonics.com. No other bands have played the castle in eight years, so this a chance to see Stereophonics live in an atmospheric, nostalgic setting. They’ll be playing classic tracks alongside new material from their eagerly awaited studio album, ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ which is out 16 November on Mercury Records.
The new record is written by Kelly Jones, who also co-produced the album with Mercury award-winning producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, and Kasabian). The 12-track collection is the band’s seventh studio album – their previous five studio albums have all gone straight to number one and last November they released their career embracing ‘Greatest Hits Collection’ ‘Decade In The Sun’, which sold almost a million copies in two months.
The Cardiff Castle show will be Stereophonics’ first UK performance since they headlined the Isle Of Wight Festival in June.
