Wojtek Godzisz

www.myspace.com/wojtekgodzisz
Founding member and main song writer of what was voted the best live band of the 1990’s Symposium is back. After the break up of the band Wojtek decided to go into a self proclaimed musical exile while the other members went on to form The Letter G and Hells For Heroes. If your looking for a good live show Wojtek is one to see, he’s not trashing the stage like he used to back in the Symposium days but still has a phenomenal stage presence and is throwing out at you some of the most unusual songs you will hear all year and love! Wojtek is producing a starkly original sound thats impressively experimental and can only be described as Arcade Fire being conducted by Tim Burton! Wojtek Godzisz is a man on top of his game!!! “It’s great, incase you were wondering” 8/10 – Drowned In Sound “Reinvigorated as one of the UK’s heroes of pop songwriting” – Plastic Ashtray “Achingly beautiful” 4/5 – Gigwise “Folkish, Arcade Fire-edged rock.” – Time Out

SixNationState

www.myspace.com/sixnationstatetheband
Although this raucous indie rock quintet SixNationState (Jeepster Records, home of Belle & Sebastian and Snow Patrol) formed in Southampton, their sound resonated with qualities more commonly found in the music of Liverpool-based acts. Fronted by Gerry del-Guercio (guitar/vocals), a enthusiast of Italian origin with a vocal rasp akin to Kelly Jones. As a live act SixNationState are by all accounts, hyperactive affairs and they bring this to this pacey, punky sounding indie. With some comparison with The Coral which is most evident in the summery upbeat shimmy of “Caught The Sun”. Elsewhere, the triumphant bump of “Where Are You Now?” would please fans of The Fratellis. More interesting is the Gomez-produced-by-Portishead sound of “I Hate The Summer”; the high tempo, ska punk of “Taking Me Over” and gangster-themed, trumpet-touting “Up And Down” fills a live set full of good music. There energetic romp is a show worth seeing, there a very fun danceable band with quality songs! SixNationStates support for this evening are Kosmo Kings, side project of Jon (Kolo) and Nathan and Add (Chasing Faces). Kosmo Kings produce an upbeat foot tapping sound that you will want to dance to!

Decimals is Alex Pennie’s from The Automatic’s new project. The energetic screaming keyboard player and only member of The Automatic anyone tends to be able to name now front’s this energetic pop outfit with a bit of an electro twist. Not quite what you were expecting from Pennie I bet. Hands up all those who thought he’d be in a punk band!
