SEAN ROWE SET TO SUPPORT NOAH & THE WHALE
New Yorker Sean Rowe has been announced as support for Noah and The Whale’s UK tour this month. Rowe’s luxurious baritone voice has been described as “thick and sweet as molasses”, and even though his songs are laid back, acoustic affairs with him using his guitar as a percussion instrument as well as a stringed one, the power of his voice give his music a distinctive, soulful energy. Listen to his music and read more about him here.
Noah and the Whale’s UK tour is trundling on despite the band suffering the loss of an entire trailer of equipment when they were robbed in Manchester last week. Bassist Urby Whale said of the robbery, “We have lost so much sentimental, gorgeous gear. Despite these thieving arseholes, the world has stepped up and everyone has been amazing. We will overcome, we will continue the tour. Our spirit remains unbroken.” The band have asked fans to be pay particular attention to websites like Ebay and Gumtree and to report anything to the police that might help track down the equipment, much of which was very special to the band. After their UK dates, the band head off to the US and Europe as part of their tour to promote new album and accompanying special feature length film ‘The First Days of Spring.’ For more info, see myspace.com/noahandthewhale.
