THE BOY WHO TRAPPED THE SUN – SOUTH WEST GIGS
The Boy Who Trapped The Sun is a wry, alt-folk singer-songwriter from the Isle of Lewis. Signed to Geffen, he writes folk music from the heart and for the moment with choruses that truly deliver. Lyrically he manages to be both wistful and witty. He’s written with the likes of Ed Harcourt and Grammy nominated Sacha Skarbek, and is inspired by Belle and Sebastian and The Lemonheads. His music has been called, “a spectacular blend of acoustic folk pop dripping with blissful melodies and summer vibes” so it should banish any thoughts of the winter you might have noticed creeping towards us.
Last in Cornwall for a tour with Rob Sawyer in August, and for the Beach Sessions at Boardmasters 09, The Boy Who Trapped The Sun has played everywhere from SXSW in Austin, Texas to supporting Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park.
His album is due for release on 12 Oct, and he’ll be playing tracks from it at a handful of intimate gigs across the South West this month…
