UNMISSABLE ART/MUSIC EVENT TOURS SOUTH WEST: JOY COLLECTIVE

Dartington will play host to the award-winning live showcase by South West based music/art/dance/film group Joy Collective for one night only on Friday 23 October 2009. This is one of two Devon dates left of the hugely successful South West leg of the Joy Collective’s national tour, for which all other Devon dates have sold out so far.
Joy Collective’s multi-media tour showcases bodies of work by emerging professional artists as well as collaborative work on a stunning live music soundtrack by Drunk With Joy. The showcase includes a wide range of arts from contemporary dance and sculpture to photography, poetry, drawing, digital media and printmaking. By utilising digital media technologies and pulling the various art forms together in a live setting, Joy Collective deliberately blur existing boundaries of how art is presented and challenge notions of how it should be perceived, in a captivating experience.
Joy Collective is a new UK live cross-artform production and platform initiative, led by Exeter based music artist duo Drunk With Joy (www.drunkwithjoy.com) whose work has received critical acclaim in fourteen countries over four continents to date. Joy Collective fosters exceptional professional emerging visual and performing artists from the South West by presenting their work in new ways to new audiences. Joy Collective currently comprises five choreographers/dance artists, three digital media artists/filmmakers and seven visual artists from all over the region.
