SOUND OF SOMERSET: WORKSHOPS, PERFORMANCES AND MORE
Organised by Somerset Music Hub, the Sound of Somerset is a day of gigs, DJ sets and workshops happening all over Taunton town centre on Saturday 14 November. On the day, Somerset Music Hub will also be launching their first compilation CD of Somerset music, curated by John Parish (best known for his work with Mercury Music prize winner PJ Harvey). Fourteen bands were selected to appear on the compilation from nearly 100 submissions from all over the county. Seven of the selected acts will appear on an outdoor stage in Taunton High Street between 12noon and 5pm, including ULYSSES, JACK HARRISON, TWIN FALLS, SPIDIREEN, MY NAME IS IAN and TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL.
Other highlights of the day include an underage show at Taunton Methodist Church featuring THE DARLINGTONS and THE JOE PUBLIC, DAVID INGLES at the Royal British Legion, plus Beatles covers band SGT PEPPER’S ONLY DARTS CLUB BAND at the Perfect Fifth, followed by DJ sets from FREESTYLERS and FILTH INFATUATED.
