WANT ROCKIN’ ROCKABILLY AND NORTHERN SOUL? HEAD FOR BIG CHILL BRISTOL!
DJs Andy Smith and John Stapleton join head to The Big Chill Bar in Bristol on Friday 22 January for a brand new monthly residency – DJ Andy Smith’s Jam Up Twist! This will be Andy Smith’s first Bristol residency for many years as he returns home to start a rockin’ new night. Ex Portishead tour DJ, Andy (pictured) has also compiled numerous mix CDs including ‘The Document Series’ (FFRR, Illicit, Sanctuary), ‘Andy Smiths Northern Soul’ (BGP) and Trojan Document (Trojan).
After having successfully run a Saturday night of 50’s jump blues, rockabilly and northern soul at Madame Jo-Jo’s in London for over three years (alongside DJ Keb Darge), Andy is keen to bring the same vibe to various venues across the UK on a Friday night (and he’s already running a succesful ‘Jam Up Twist’ monthly Friday session in Leeds). The night (also featuring local DJ legend John Stapleton) will featurejumpin 50’s blues, monster northern soul dancers, rockin rockabilly and scorching ska sides and will be a perfect night for the rare record collector or someone who’s just out for a great night out!
