TOP BILLIN’ BRING TOP HIP HOP TO PLYMOUTH
Plymouth based hip hop night Top Billin’ has teamed up with End Of The Weak (one of New York’s longest running hip hop nights, which also has nights in about 13 different countries) to bring some REAL Brooklyn hip hop to the White Rabbit on 23 January, with a full support line-up of UK artists. The night will include performances from Sha Stimuli and DJ Victorious, straight outta Brooklyn, NYC. UK artist Dubbledge will also make an appearance, alongside Kingpin, DJ Snuff and Sika Fam residents Mr Wheelz and Flash Harry. Check out the mini bio on each artist below…
Sha Stimuli & DJ Victorious (Brooklyn, New York)
On their first UK mini tour, Sha and Victorious play this exclusive live date in Plymouth to promote debut LP ‘My Soul To Keep’, which is out now. In the last year Sha Stimuli and DJ Victorious did 12 mixtapes together in 12 months, while working on the LP. Thats only a fraction of their output. www.myspace.com/shastimuli
Dubbledge (Dented)
Top Billin’ put the word out to Plymouth on which UK artist people would like to see, and Dubbledge was the response. An E.O.W MC Champion, member of the Foreign Beggars family and officially “The Richest Man In Babylon”, Dubbledge doesn’t need much introduction, and is already established as one of the UK’s premier live hip hop performers. Kingpin (E.O.W)
Fresh from a gig in London, Kingpin celebrates the launch of his debut LP ‘The Initiative’ which features Deadly Hunta, Dubbledge, Manage, Stig Of The Dump, Kyza and more. Founder of the notorious ‘Speakers Corner’ event in London and a key player in the international hip hop movement End Of The Weak. A true-school scratch DJ and crate digger known worldwide for rocking MC cyphers with the leading names of today and tomorrow, representing the raw no-sellout side of hip hop in his energetic club sets. Mr Wheelz (SIKA FAM)
As an original member of the 2quick collective, Mr Wheelz made his name hitting open mics and tearing shows. Gaining local recognition as part of ‘Country Critics’, Wheelz set about smashing as many open mics and shows as possible, performing from Birmingham to Brixton and everywhere inbetween. Mr Wheelz has supported many UK heavyweights. Now flying solo and backed by Sika Studios he is currently working on his first release, ‘Armchair Revolution’. Flash Harry (SIKA FAM)
After smashing the underground scene for the last decade Flash Harry has earned his SIKA reputation by smacking shows, winning competitions and supporting names such as Shy Fx, Blak Twang and Foreign Beggars in clubs up and down the UK. One of SIKA studios’ top DJ’s and producer of the SIKA mixtape also has his highly acclaimed underground ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ mixtape available to downloadab from his myspace. Flash Harry is one to look out for in 2010.
