The long-awaited new series of Skins is almost upon us, and to celebrate this momentous event the team behind the show are taking it back to its home town of Bristol with another Skins first: The Skins House. From 21 January until 6 February they’re going to be taking over one of Bristol’s most unique city centre venues – The Old Fire Station – and hosting a series of awesome gigs, club nights and events featuring some of the UK’s hottest DJs and live acts. The unmissable line-up includes performances from acts like Plan B, Example, I Blame Coco, Two Door Cinema Club, Hadouken!, Subfocus, Daisy Dares You, Alex Metric, Pulled Apart By Horses and Mystery Jets (DJ Set). Joining them will be some of the UK’s foremost DJs and producers including Toddla T, Kissy Sellout, Starsmith, Fake Blood, Raffertie, Grum, and Joy Orbison, making for an incredible array of new talent hosting some very special parties.

The events are FREE (subject to a £1 booking fee) and will kick off on Thursday 21 January, with a special DJ set by The Mystery Jets, live performances from Two Door Cinema Club and The Cheek, and a chance to meet the Skins cast. NME Radio will also be setting up camp at the Skins House, with presenter James Theaker producing his Saturday night show from the venue, and he’ll also be going along to all 16 events and phoning in to the studio with daily updates from Bristol.

Gigs that follow will include some of the most exciting new music acts in the UK – with live sets from artists including Foreign Beggars, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Goldhawks, General Fiasco, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Unicorn Kid, Man Like Me, Drop The Lime And Crystal Fighters. DJ sets come from the likes of the massively tipped Foamo and Kavinsky.

Skins House is working with the most established labels and promoters in Bristol to host the parties including The Blast, Team Love, Monkey!Knife!Fight!, Chew The Fat! H.E.N.C.H and Clearskyz. Club Propaganda will also be making an appearance, bringing the UK’s biggest indie night to the Skins House for two exclusive club nights. And if that wasn’t enough, the Skins House guys have teamed up with Bristol dubstep promoters Blowpop, who’ll be looking after their Friday night sessions.

Although tickets for these events are free the capacities will be strictly limited. They’ll be releasing the tickets on a first-come-first-served basis through their secure ticketing system at 1pm on Friday 8 January, so check their website to bag your tickets for the biggest Skins events you’ve ever seen!

And if you can’t make it down to Skins House then don’t worry. Every morning after each event they’ll be posting videos and podcasts featuring the highlights from the night before along with some exclusive interviews and backstage gossip – so everyone can get a piece of the Skins House action.
