WIN A TREE SURFING EXPERIENCE WITH EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS AND 247 MAGAZINE
Survival expert Ray Mears will be in Plymouth next month as part of Explore the Outdoors, an exciting event which covers all aspects of outdoor pursuits – from water sports to exploring. The event, which takes place at Plymouth Pavilions on 13 – 14 March, will feature activities and challenges for the whole family. Have a go at paddle boarding or kayaking, test your skills on the climbing wall, meet some of Dartmoor Zoo’s slimy and furry creatures, or watch the Mountain Bike display team showing off their skills. The Pavilions arena will also be transformed into a Wilderness Zone, where you can forage for wild food and learn about surviving in extreme conditions. All day entry to the exhibition costs £5, each ticket includes a free leisure voucher for the Pavilions Pool or Ice Rink, and kids go free. To celebrate the event, the Pavilions has teamed up with 247 and www.treesurfers.co.uk – the official sponsors of the Adrenaline Zone at Explore The Outdoors – to give two people the chance to experience Tree Surfing on a three hour rope course. Based at Gulworthy near Tavistock, Tree Surfing is an adrenaline-pumping, heart-thumping bird’s eye experience. Their incredible treetop eco-trail transports you to the awesome canopy of one of Britain’s prized woodlands. A complex of ladders, rope bridges, zip wires and walkways gives you the freedom to explore our astounding native broadleaf trees from the top down in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
