WANTED: TALENTED FILM STUDENT
An exciting opportunity for a talented film student is up for grabs – developers Coast Group are building on the site of the former Rickham Coastguard Station and Lookout, where the old Gara Rock Hotel used to sit, on the famous South West Coastal path (East Portlemouth, Salcombe, Devon, TQ8 8PH). The development will include 14 luxury holiday apartments, five cottages, a 14 bedroom lifestyle hotel, a restaurant and bar, indoor swimming pool, fully equipped gym and spa facilities, a proposed tennis court, and landscaped gardens. The opening of the show cottage will be sometime during June 2011. The developers are keen to make a film record of the build – highlighting key moments like the arrival of heavy goods vehicles and equipment, including the piling rig, ready mix lorries, mobile restaurant, and the delivery of the timber frames. As well as the above, filming of key individuals will take place with the aim of capturing characters like the construction team in Devon, members of the head office in London, the architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and so on.
The developers are looking for a student who is prepared to travel to Gara Rock over the next six months from time to time and record the above. They will be given the key dates when specific changes take place. The developers will pay all travel expenses, and they will also be responsible for paying a daily rate. (To be determined.)
If you would like to apply for this job please email Ian McNeice and include a CV and any film experiences that you may have had. The successful applicant must have their own equipment and their own transport. ianmcneice@mac.com
