James Morrison is set to play a massive show, hosted by radio station Heart FM at Escot Park near Ottery St Mary, Devon on 16 July.
It’s all a long way from Morrison’s days as a busker in Cornwall, where he used to wash cars for a living as he struggled to break into the music scene. His efforts eventually paid off and he was signed to Polydor and made his first album. Debut record, Undiscovered, went straight to number one in the UK album chart in July 2006, selling more than two million copies worldwide. You Give Me Something became the romantic anthem of the summer and he was that year’s biggest selling British male solo artist. Morrison, who went to school at Newquay Treviglas Community College near Indian Queens, last visited the West Country for a show at Exeter Uni’s Great Hall in March 2009.

Tickets for James Morrison’s Escot Park concert cost £28.50 in advance on 0845 2960000. People under the age of 14 must be accompanied by adult.
