Truro’s Wig & Pen is already known for its eclectic mix quality live music events and this year has already hosted the likes of Tiffany Page, Lauren Pritchard, The Goodtime Boys and The Computers. This time Pop/Rock (and crazed soap stars) is on the menu when Just Like You, fronted by Eastenders actor Aaron Sidwell (Steven Beale), drop in for a little set.
So, Just Like You, the story so far – as Aaron entered Eastenders his character, Steven Beale, was immediately under the spotlight and on the front page of every TV magazine going – shootings, kidnapping his sister, suffocating his grandmother and even stories ran about his sexuality. Aarons final scene as he fled Alford Square was watched by 10million viewers and that was it, Aaron was free to pursue his main love, music.
It was clear that Eastenders would not be the only thing Aaron would be successful at, he has kept busy making appearances on TV in programs like Big Brother, and has since stared in two films set for a 2010 release with the directors from the hit UK Film ‘Football factory’.
Aside from acting Aaron also has a passion for music and performing on stage. In late 2009 he joined forces with ex NATO drummer, Ross Rothero-Bourge, Reels bass player Neil Hawkins and Ed Dickinson and that was it, Just Like You were born.
Although real early days the band plan to release an E.P over the summer of 2010 and already have the backing of one of the UK’s biggest press teams and endorsements from the likes of Paiste Cymbals, Regal tip sticks, Protection Racket Casing to name but a few.
With this exciting year ahead of them Just Like You want to be out playing to as many people as possible up and down the country, and will be making this show one of their first. With big things planned this is a chance to see them first!
