WIN A ZAPCAT POWER BOAT EXPERIENCE WITH 247 MAGAZINE
The opening races of the Zapcat powerboat season will take place in Cornwall this year, when the Blue Chip Newquay Zapcat Grand Prix race weekend kicks off the season at Fistral Beach on the weekend of 24 and 25 April. Zapcats originated from surf rescue boats in South Africa during the 80s where lifeguards raced down treacherous rivers and along rugged coastlines. Zapcats are designed to cope with a huge variety of sea conditions from flat calm lakes to large breaking surf. Teams, including local Royal Marines from RAF St Mawgan, will cut through the surf, performing daring and spectacular aerial leaps as they propel themselves through the sea at speeds of up to 50 mph. Supported by Newquay based high-end property company, Blue Chip, the event will be free for spectators, and food and drink will be available. There will also be a grand Zapcats parade through the town on Friday 23 April, with races taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
WIN!!! You can win a Zapcat Power Boat experience with 247 Magazine – to enter the competition, email 247@outofhand.co.uk with ZAPCAT in the subject line and answer the below question:

ZAPCAT EXPERIENCE COMPETITION RULES
Zapcat activity experiences can be purchased throughout the year as co-pilot (£99.00) or pilot & co-pilot instruction (£199.00) from Vortex Events; very few get the chance to co-pilot at a Zapcat Racing National Championship event, in a race boat, at a race venue with one of the championship competitors!
Think of it like going for a lap or two with a British Touring Car competitor before they line up on the grid or co-driving with one of the World Rally Championship drivers on a Welsh Forest stage in the middle of the WRC Great Britain Rally. Putting a value on that type of experience is very difficult to do and would normally involve at least three zeros!
Every race venue is different and has its own unique characteristics and conditions, whether it is a dock, river and beach resort or surf venue. Zapcat racing is exhilarating, physical and fun, perfect for thrill seekers and extreme sports enthusiasts usually described in one word as ‘Awesome’!
1. Whether prize winners are allowed on the water or not, is down to the Race Organisers, the Safety Officer or the Officer of the Day.
2. Should conditions prevent a prize winners’ Zapcat experience taking place they will be offered either another race venue or alternatively a standard Vortex Events Zapcat co-pilot session at their Southampton location only.
3. Zapcat experiences have a value of £205.00 however no cash alternatives will be offered.

14. Zapcat experiences at race venues are provided by competitors acting in the interests of the sport or by the Vortex Events team. Due to the nature of the racing programme it may be necessary to change the time or day when these are delivered without notice and ZCR and their officials reserve the right to do this.
15. Competition organisers must supply their terms and conditions for approval by ZCR Ltd prior to announcing any competition and may not do so for profit – if they choose to do so, they may be liable to charges for the Zapcat experiences and associated equipment hire, safety team and fuel costs.
