A brand new cafe has just opened up in Falmouth – and it’s not any old cafe. Loading is a cafe with a twist, and combines yummy snacks and drinks with retro arcade games! Opened by University College Falmouth graduate James Dance, the cafe aims to provide a haven for gamers and coffee lovers alike. James, who studied film at UCF and previously worked as head chef at The Shed on Events Square in Falmouth, decided to open his cafe because he felt that there wasn’t much for young people to do in the town. He told us, “In the cafe I’ve got an arcade table with 1000 games on it, including all the classics like Space Invaders, right up to mid 90s games like Street Fighter and Metal Slug. There’s also a flat screen which has old consoles hooked up to it, so at the moment its a Super Nintendo.

The mouthwatering menu at Loading includes a range of quality food including scrumptious milkshakes made from Ben & Jerrys ice cream, griddled paninis, delicious salads, fairtrade coffees and hot chocolates, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, as well as lots of other snacks to keep you fuelled up for a good gaming sesh!

James’ website at www.loadingonline.co.uk should be up online soon, and in the meantime, if you’re in Falmouth, check out Loading, at 2 Quay Street, (opposite Shades) in Falmouth (01326 218627).
