For the fourth instalment of our Presspack Sessions, Joe Biddle from Presspack Studios talks to Josie Ghost, lead-singer of fast-rising South West stars, Josie and the Lovecats. It’s been happening very quickly for the quirky and inventive Plymouth band, who have gone from local favourites to appearances at Glastonbury Festival, a support slot for Vampire Weekend and a self-released single and EP- and it’s all this month. The band have been playing for just over a year, and consists of Josie Ghost on lead vocals and keyboards, Josie Boucharde on bass/backing vocals, Sam Fry on Drums and Simon Dobson on trumpet, Korg and backing vocals.

Josie and the Lovecats have their debut single ‘Brother’ and 6-track EP ‘My Heart’s an Idiot’ out now.
Catch them supporting Vampire Weekend at Eden Sessions, St Austell on the 24 June.
They play two dates at Glastonbury Festival – Friday 25 (Avalon Café, 9pm) and Sunday 27 (Avalon Café 4.30pm). You can also catch them at Ride Café, Plymouth on Saturday 19 June, 8pm.
