RED BULL: CATCH 22 CRICKET IN BRISTOL

Bristol is one of four cities hosting the Red Bull Catch 22 cricket tournaments this summer.

As of last week (8 July), teams across the country have been taking part in the cricket games – with a twist.

In true Red Bull fashion, the traditional Laws of Cricket have been defied to create an accelerated new format of the game that can be played by four people, in 15 minutes – guaranteed to be packed full of action from start to finish. The rules are simple: two teams, two players, and two overs. That’s all there is to it. Rapid, rule-breaking, and really good fun. What’s more, the competition is open to anyone – what better way to enjoy the great British outdoors with some mates this summer?

The highest scoring teams of each week, plus the two highest scoring teams of the first three weeks will then battle it out at the honourable Oval in September.

A spokesman for Red Bull said: “Red Bull Catch 2:2 is this summer’s new, quirky way to enjoy the nation’s much loved sport. Teams will go head-to-head in London, Birmingham, Bristol, and Leeds for the chance to compete in the September final, held at the England v. Pakistan One Day International. “

Kick off is at 5.30pm on Thursdays throughout July at Bristol Downs.
