The seventh Port Eliot festival saw 5,000 festival goers of all ages flock to the Cornish coast for a weekend of arts, music and wild swimming.
Former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker gave people an insight into the humble beginnings of the festival while broadcasting live to BBC Radio 6 on the Sunday, revealing that the festival only sold 17 tickets in its first year!
The site is in the beautiful grounds of a very old estate with stunning views, including the estuary on the river Tamar which provided the ‘wild’ swimmers with a tidal lido to enjoy and plenty of mud to sling.
Every different area felt like another secret garden that had just been discovered through the trees, this included the fashionistas favourite – the ‘walled garden’ which hosted a fashion tent, run by Barbara Hulanicki, Anna Sui and Luella Bartley.
But it wasn’t all about the clothes, the music at the festival was brilliant, made all the more appealing by local acts such as the hugely talented Josie and the Lovecats and other well known artists such as Jakob Dylan (Bob Dylan’s son) and the awesome Alabama 3, which kept everyone dancing till the early hours of the morning.
