WIN AN ALL EXPENSES PAID ROUND THE WORLD TRIP
The amazing prize of a year-long, all expenses paid trip around the world is up for grabs in a new competition that will benefit dozens of charities.
Two winners will be chosen from the thousands of entrants to Your Big Year – a free competition, which is open to everyone around the world until October.
The competition, run by meaningful travel specialists Smaller Earth, is designed to encourage global citizenship and social responsibility through enterprise.
The two winners will meet world leaders and business icons and live in different communities throughout the year, as well as learning leadership skills and joining volunteer projects.
Applicants from around the world will be set a number of on-line challenges where their skills in communication, fundraising and entrepreneurial flair will be put to the test.
Twelve people can reach the finals by competing in online challenges, six will make the final cut by raising the most money for chosen charities and the final six will be the people who can make the most referrals and raising the profile of the charity. The deadline for entries is October 10.
24 finalists will be announced at the Shanghai World Expo on October 16. They will then be brought to Liverpool to undertake the final challenges as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 13-20 ). The overall winners will be announced on November 19.
Chris Arnold, founder & CEO of Smaller Earth, said: “The prize is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we have had thousands of applicants so far. We are hoping to get even more applicants as the competition process has been designed so that everyone who participates will benefit from honing key skills.”
