Exit Through The Gift Shop, a film by Bristol street artist Banksy has been nominated for an Oscar Academy Award. The documentary, a Paranoid Pictures Production, is the story of how a French documentary film maker tried to befriend the extremely elusive Banksy. It is named after an exhibit from Banksy’s uber successful 2009 exhibition at Bristol museum which attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world and saw seven hour long queues outside Bristol Museum. This entertaining Banksy film was named alongside four others in the Best Documentary Feature category. The other nominees are Gasland, Inside Job, Restrepo and Waste Land. It comes after Exit Through The Gift Shop received a Bafta film nomination. The Baftas are often seen as a precursor to the Oscars, which take place in LA on February 27.
