PROG PUNK ROCKERS TWIN ATLANTIC HEAD FOR THE SOUTH WEST

Twin Atlantic – a young Glaswegian four-piece who have already racked up support slots with the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Biffy Clyro, Blink 182, and My Chemical Romance, head to the South West this week as part of their current UK tour.

Since starting out in early 2007, Twin Atlantic have evolved into one of the UK’s most exciting new rock bands, their poppy melodies twisted with a metallic crunch and shades of prog experimentation.

Their live shows are technical, melodic and relentlessly energetic, and this tour will see them road testing songs from their new album, Free, which is due out on 2 May 2011 and will be their first full length release, after their debut mini album, Vivarium which was released in 2009. The album will feature new single ‘Edit Me’ (which featured on Zane Lowe’s prime time Radio 1 show just last week) and as frontman Sam McTrusty recently told punk rock bible Rocksound Magazine, the songs on the record are “more important for [the band] than anything we’ve ever done.”

This band are clearly set for big things. Don’t miss their energetic live performances tonight in Cardiff, on Friday in Plymouth at the White Rabbit, then at Orange Box, Yeovil on Saturday.
