What started out as a small gathering of friends on the outskirts of Cheltenham has morphed into an award winning staple on the festival calendar (Best Grass Roots Festival 2010). Taking place on the small but perfectly formed Upcote Farm, nr Cheltenham, on July 15-16, the festival attracts a few thousand young folk for what feels like a secret party. With a definite nod towards indie music, this year’s enviable line up includes Frightened Rabbit, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Los Campesinos!, Danny and the Champions of the World, Ellen and the Escapades, Stagecoach, StingerBessant, Crazy Arm, Out Like A Lion and more. With four stages and more than 80 acts you’re bound to pick up some new up and coming bands to follow and you can’t bark at the bargainous ticket price of £59. If you’re lucky, you may just catch local skiffle band Thrill Collins who stole the show at last year’s festival. More info and tickets at www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk
