The Devon-based theatre company Creative Cow will preview their latest production, Look Back In Anger, in Tiverton before taking it on the road for a nationwide tour. The play, written by John Osborne, is performed by a cast of talented actors, including Piers Wehner, who played Jude in The Archers. A spokesman for the company said: “We are now in production week and the play is living up to its iconic status 55 years on. The company is relishing the opportunity to breathe life in to this classic piece of British theatre which still achieves the unavoidable seam of relentless frustration and anger from the protagonist, Jimmy Porter which shook audiences over half a century ago. It was groundbreaking in 1956 and we believe it still has an extremely relevant story to tell. It’s a study of relationships, love and cracks in the human spirit … and that is timeless. This is a play you have to see in your lifetime and we hope you can make it to Creative Cow’s vigorous production.” Look Back In Anger starts it’s tour at the New Hall in Tiverton this week (Thursday 7th & Friday 8th April) before touring the region and the country. It returns to Devon on April 21 at the Plough Arts Centre in Torrington and Blackmore Arts in Exmouth on April 23. In May (3-5), it will have a short run at Fisherton Mill in Salisbury before heading up to Tewkesbury Roses Theatre on May 12 and back down to Dulverton Town Hall in Somerset on June 4.
