After last month’s mass festival giveaway we kept festival news to a minimum for the May mag. But we realise a £5,000 ticket giveaway is a hard act to follow so we teamed up with South West hip hop duo Carpetface & Audible1 to offer you a free download card for their album. Saddened by the news of The Bluetones’ imminent departure, we also grabbed a chat with Brother who could well hold the key to keeping that Britpop shaped light shining in 2011. Finally, we interviewed the hotly tipped Bristol pop punksters We Start Partys who have been proving quite the hit on Youtube in recent months and it’s not difficult to see why. Our fashion shoot showcased the awesome shops on Bristol’s Park Street with a distinctive outdoor vibe. We also used the opportunity to launch a brand new food section where this month, we recommend our top spots for Al Fresco dining. Street Art is all about Upfest, out favourite live painting festival which takes place in Bristol at the beginning of June.
