D’n’B specialist, LTJ Bukem makes a welcome return to Bristol at the end of May, headlining the High Steaks night at Basement 45. Owner of Good Looking Records, Bukem is a producer and DJ who has been involved in the scene for over 20yrs. He released a series of jungle tracks such as ‘Demon’s Theme’ (1991), ‘Atlantis’, ‘Music’ (1993) and the hugely popular ‘Horizons’ in 1995. His sound is a more jazz and ambient influenced side of drum and bass, which is also known as intelligent drum and bass…

Alongside DJing, he also ran the scene changing London D’n’B night, Speed and in 1995 he did an Essential Mix alongside MC Conrad on Radio 1. In 1997 he remixed the James Bond theme for David Arnold’s concept album of James Bond music and in 2000 he finally released a debut solo album, the double-CD Journey Inwards, which heavily emphasised his jazz fusion influences.

LTJ Bukem headlines the High Steaks bank holiday special at Basement 45 on Sunday 29 May, with a special 2hr set, supported by John B, DJ TTB, J-Roth, Optimystic and MC’s Speers and guests.
