St Peter’s Hospice is appealing to women over the age of 16 to set their alarm clocks for midnight and take part in their second Midnight Walk on Saturday 9th July 2011. The Midnight Walk is a 10 mile sponsored walk starting and finishing at Bristol City Football Ground in Bedminster. Walkers will head out at midnight, walking into the early hours of the morning and will pass some of the most memorable sights of Bristol including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Downs and SS Great Britain. Last year 1,450 women stepped out under the stars in pink t-shirts and fancy dress and helped raise over £150,000 for Bristol’s only adult Hospice. In 2011 organisers are hoping that the event will be even bigger and better.

Maria Moon Park, Events Fundraiser at St Peter’s Hospice said: “Why not get your family, friends and work colleagues together and set up a team? The Midnight Walk can provide a unique opportunity to organise a night out with a difference and get fit but will also help raise money for your local Hospice. Last year was amazing and we were overwhelmed by how many women took part so we hope even more will sign up in 2011 to take part in Bristol’s biggest and best fundraising event.”

To register online visit: www.bristolmidnightwalk.co.uk or pop into your local St Peter’s Hospice shop and pick up an application form. Registration is just £12 and walkers will receive an event pack containing helpful information and fundraising tips, an official Midnight Walk t-shirt nearer the time of the event, plus refreshments and medal when they cross the finish line. Closing date to register is Friday 2nd July 2011 (subject to the number of entries received prior to this date)
