CLASSICAL MUSIC VIDEOS UNEARTHED THANKS TO SOMERSET’S DIGITAL VIDEO SINGLES

Somerset based company Digital Video Singles have made rare and in some cases, unseen live video footage of some of the greatest artists of our time, available to watch and purchase via iTunes. Before the time of expensive music videos and MTV, independent film makers often recorded live recordings of legendary musicians and icons as they entered the music scene. Digital Video Singles aim is to uncover these unnoticed treasures of music history and make them available to the general public. The company have been searching through hundreds of archives to source the rarest and most memorable live performances. They have even suggested that many of these videos may not have been seen since they were first recorded. Founded by a U.K. based capitol company, DVS are excited for music fans to discover the potential digitalisation of these recordings will have upon their favourite songs. Although some of these recorded performances have appeared on websites such as youtube, they haven’t been digitalised to an acceptable modern age standard. DVS aim to restore these historical moments to make them even more memorable. Thanks to their close relationship with iTunes, the company have already made many titles available. These include performances by Ottis Reading, Iggy Pop, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Four Tops, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and Elton John. Within the next few months the company aim to have more than 200 classic titles available for download or purchase.
