COMEDIAN TIM MINCHIN TO PLAY BEAUTIFUL DAYS FESTIVAL IN DEVON

Australian comedian, composer, songwriter and pianist Tim Minchin has been announced today for Beautiful Days 2011 plus the last few acts for the Main Stage and The Big Top stage line-ups. Beautiful Days is the Levellers festival which takes place at Escot Park in the heart of Devon in August and this year will be the ninth Beautiful Days. It’s a family music festival with five stages, amazing site art, a huge children’s area in the centre of the festival, comedy, theatre, family camping, licensed real ale bars from Otter Brewery & carefully selected food and craft stalls. The festival has no corporate sponsorship or branding.

Festival headliners are the original Big Audio Dynamite with Mick Jones, who head to Devon in August to headline the Main Stage on the Friday night and share the bill with gypsy-punks Gogol Bordello. Headlining the Saturday night are Carter USM making their first festival appearance in 14 years and their only UK festival appearance this year! Festival founders Levellers will close the festival on the Sunday night followed by a firework finale.

Other acts announced for the Main Stage and Big Top include Pop Will Eat Itself, Afro Celt Sound System, The Low Anthem, Flogging Molly, Stereo MCs, I Am Kloot, John Grant, Hugh Cornwell, The Blockheads, The Mob, Alabama 3, Teddy Thompson, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Four Men and A Dog, Paul Heaton, The Beat, The Jim Jones Revue, Lau, Divokej Bill, Salsa Celtica, Wolf People, Sheelanagig, Rory McLeod, Dave McPherson, Mojo Fury, The Fabulous Good Time Party Boys, Oysterband, Eddi Reader, Roddy Woomble, Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds, Dizraeli & The Small Gods, Jackie Oates, The Young Coppers, Ben Howard, Skinny Lister, Dan Donnelly, Backbeat Sound System, Dogan & The Deerhunters, Sean Taylor, Caroline Herring, New Groove Formation and The Strange Death of Liberal England.

Kissy Sell Out with lighting and visuals by Know1 plus DJ Friction, Sigma, Trolley Snatcha, Steve Hillage’s System 7, Mr Nice, Maxxi P, Sunfish, DJ Ambiessence vs Bostin Powers, The FOS Brothers, The Beadle, Minor Planet, Fred V & Grafix, Spinna Old Skool, Richmond, MC Jonny G, Agony, Reality, Phantom, Ben & Lex, Lewah and Pharma complete the bill for the evening line-up in The Little Big Top. There are laughs from ‘Scary Dave presents’ on the Saturday and Sunday afternoon in The Little Big Top with a comedy line-up including Sol Bernstein, Dougie Dunlop, Debra-Jane Appelby, Paddy Lennox, Bentley, Scott Denyer, Rich Allen, Nick Page, Bob Mills, John Warburton, Pierre Hollins, Ola, Sully O’Sullivan, Ben Schofield and Chris Brooker. The line-up of spoken word and alternative performances on Dirty Davey’s Bandstand and music at The Bimble Inn are still to be announced. The Sunday theme for Beautiful Days 2011 will be ‘Spots & Polka Dots.

Adult Weekend Camping Tickets are £110, 10 to Under 16’s Weekend Camping Ticket £60, 5 to Under 10’s Weekend Camping Ticket £30 and Under 5’s Weekend Camping Ticket £5.
