RED BULL STAGE AT ST PAULS CARNIVAL
With a history of hosting one of the rowdiest parties at London’s Notting Hill Carnival, Red Bull Music Academy is getting involved in Bristol’s long-running St Paul’s Carnival on Saturday 2nd July. Partnering with local Bristol promoters Team Love, the free party will take place at the centre of the St Paul’s carnival and will see a line-up of some of the world’s top Carnival-related talent take to the stage, headlined by Kiss FM’s legendary dancehall selector and dub-deity David Rodigan.
He’ll be joined by a roster of heavyweights including local heroes Julio Bashmore and Future Boogie alongside Toddla T and Redlight’s ‘Roller Express’ featuring a secret yet-to-be-announced trio of guests. Laminate Radio and Team Love Allstars complete the bill.
The story of St. Paul’s Carnival is one of a community’s success, from its small beginnings in the late sixties to the present day. The whole event now takes over the neighborhood of St. Paul’s and the adjacent areas of Stokescroft and Montpellier and presents a thriving creative centre where any imaginative endeavor is do-able and is often powered from the grass roots up. The organisation, which is now in its 44th year, is driven by a handful of locals with a passion for the event and the community in which it exists, involving schools, community groups and host professional performers.
