The famous Bristol Balloon Fiesta, which takes place from August 11-14, is looking for local bands to play. They’ve teamed up with local brewery Zero Degrees to host live music. They want to hear from local singers/songwriters, bands, musicians and performance artists interested in playing in front of thousands of people at the Balloon Fiesta. This will be the 33rd Bristol Balloon Fiesta – the focal point of which is more than 100 colourful hot air balloons taking to the skies over the city. Muir Moffat, chairman of the fiesta organising committee, said: “This year the fiesta is celebrating 40 years of balloon manufacturing in the city, as part of a greater theme ‘Made in Bristol.’ The introduction of a bandstand at the Fiesta will provide us with another platform to showcase what is best about the West and give local acts the opportunity to flaunt their talent to the fiesta’s visitors.” Musicians wanting to take this opportunity can download a form from www.bristolballoonfiesta.co.uk and return it with a demo tape to the organisers.
