NEWTON FAULKNER TO PLAY INTIMATE BEACH GIG AT RELENTLESS BOARDMASTERS 2011 IN CORNWALL

It’s not long to go until this year’s Relentless Boardmasters festival in Newquay and as if Fatboy Slim wasn’t enough, the organisers have enticed the mellow singer/songwriter Newton Faulkner back for a one off intimate beach gig. The gig celebrates 30 years of Boardmasters and is the latest exciting announcement in a long line of them.

Faulkner is one of the UK’s best-loved homegrown stars and has a devoted fan base amongst the like-minded UK surfers of the South West. Having first hit Boardmasters in 2007 as the main support to Seasick Steve and returning in 2010 to co-headline the main event, which lead to roadblock sell out. It is only right that the king of folk-rock returns for an exclusive intimate Beach Sessions show on Thursday 11th August at Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters Festival – the place where it all began for him!

Newton will performing classics such as Dream Catch Me, Gone in the Morning and Tear Drop from his best selling album Hand Built By Robots, one of the top 20 biggest selling UK digital albums of all time. Faulkner has been busy in the studio working on the release of his third album and is thrilled to be celebrating with surf fans for 30 years of the Boardmasters.

Newton Faulkner adds in to an already jam packed line up of artists at this year’s festival, including amongst many, dance music pioneer Fatboy Slim, female of the moment Eliza Doolittle alongside Bombay Bicycle Club and the super electro charged producer Krafty Kuts all set to make the UK’s premier surf, skate and music festival THE best festival line-up of the summer!
