While the South West and Wales has no shortage of festivals to go to – now and then we cannot resist some of the offerings further afield, such as Summer Sundae Weekender in Leicestershire. What’s more, we’ve bagged a pair of tickets to give away to one reader.
Taking place at the De Montfort Hall and Gardens on August 11-14, the festival has secured the likes of The Maccabees, Graham Coxon, The Bees, Newton Faulkner, Reef, Bellowhead, McFly, Example and The Cuban Brothers. Other acts playing are Toots and the Maytals. King Creosote & John Hopkins, Shonen Knife, I Am Kloot, Chapel Club, Teddy Thompson, Ben Howard, Kitty Daisy and Lewis, CW Stoneking, My First Tooth, Dry The River and more. There’s a Summer Sundae Weekender takeover at the 02 Academy Leicester on the Thursday night too, featuring Jaymo & Andy George, Fenech-Soler, Polarsets & P-Money. Comedy comes from Simon Evans, Carly Smallman, Jon Richardson, John Cooper Clarke, Kerry Gilbert and more.
