Newquay’s Fistral Beach is to host to both the European King of the Groms final and the 4* ASP Quiksilver Pro Junior events. The August bank holiday weekend (25 – 29) event kicks off on Thursday morning, with the King of the Grom’s European final. The King of the Groms contests are held all over the world in order to find the best under-16 surfers, who will compete at the international final during the Quiksilver Pro France in October. The Quiksilver Pro Junior gets underway on Saturday August 27 when over 96 of the world’s best junior surfers will descend on Fistral Beach to compete for the title and £20,000 prize money. As well as the surfing, spectators can expect some great music; already confirmed are local talents ‘Auction for the Promise Club’ and ‘The Last Gentlemen’ with more being confirmed at time of going to press.
