One of the UK’s favourite young show bands, Blues Brothers Banned return to the West Country playing Exmouth Pavilion on Friday 30 September and Carnglaze Caverns on Saturday 1 October.

The high energy ten piece band present a jam packed night of music and mayhem with hits from the cult Blues Brothers and Commitments movies featuring throughout their performance, punctuated with contemporary tuneage. “We have performed in all sorts of places over the UK from jazz clubs and music halls to outdoor festivals, but we love playing down west,” says Owen, aka Elwood. “Our first tour was in Devon and Cornwall and we can’t wait to come back!”

Blues Brothers Banned thrive on bringing back familiar songs then adding a unique twist. With this quirky mix of old and new from R&B, soul, swing, even ska, Blues Brothers Banned are a far cry from the archetypal tribute acts. Owen said: “The original Blues Brothers played covers in order to pay homage and re-invent the classic music of the past. Our aim is the same, but the decade is different. We mix different styles together and do all the Blues Brothers classics and work in anything from our own reggae style take on the Scrubs’ theme to Rapper’s Delight.”

The Banned, who originate from Hertfordshire, regularly play theatres and music venues all over the UK and Ireland. They have filled London’s legendary Hard Rock Café and Pigalle Club to overflowing and packed the famous l00 Club twice. They are regulars at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and return to Cork Jazz Festival for the second time this autumn.

They play Exmouth Pavilion at 8pm on September 30 and Carnglaze Caverns at 8pm on October 1. More info at www.bluesbrothersbanned.co.uk
