One of Bristol’s most promising new bands, Goan Dogs, are supporting Zun Zun Egui as they return home for the official album launch of “Katang” and the last date of their UK tour.

247 Magazine favourites Goan Dogs came about when drummer Dan Lane and guitarist/singer Luke St Leger were touring California. Drawing inspiration from the lo-fi Americana sounds of Calexico and co. they started putting their own British spin on it. On their return, they joined forces with Theo Mackie, Bill Sherwood and Sam Kynan Powell to help carve an even bigger sound.

The group proved an instant hit after their debut gig at The Croft earlier this year and went on to record their debut EP in the studio with acclaimed producers, The Insects (who’ve worked with Massive Attack, Alison Moyet, Goldfrapp), which is available to buy in Bristol’s Rise Records. Goan Dogs also made it through to the final of the Green Man unsigned competition for a band to open this year’s festival. They continue to wow fans and critics alike at live shows around the city.

Goan Dogs join Green Gartside (Scritti Politti), United Vibrations and Bristol Reggae Society to support Zun Zun Egui at Bristol Trinity Centre this Satruday (October 29). Live DJs sets from A.J.Holmes & MC Kastro, Qu Junktions DJs and live T-Shirt screenprinting from Floodit. Doors open 7pm, tickets £6adv from www.TicketWeb.co.uk
